day可用作量词, a day可表示“每天”。
当定语从句所修饰的词是day时,关系词that/when/which多省略。例如:His father died the day when he was born.
day and night和night and day,有的词典认为两者意思有些不同:day and night等于continuously,用于以昼为主的场合, night and day等于always,用于以夜为主的场合,实际上,两者现已无区别地使用,都是“日夜不停地,日日夜夜地”的意思。
the day before yesterday(前天), the day after tomorrow(后天)等这些短语里的the在美式英语中可以省略。例如:He left for London (the) day before yesterday.
save a day, save the day
save a day的意思是“省了一天的时间”, save the day的意思则是“反败为胜,转危为安”。例如:
We saved a day by taking a plane there.
The team was behind, but at the last minute Tom saved the day with a touchdown.
by day, by the day
We travelled by day and stayed at inns at night.
In some countries, most of the workers get their pay by the day.
of a day, of the day
It is nothing than a stuff of a day.
It was a twice-told tale of the day.
day after day, day by day
1.day by day在句中用作副词,作状语; 而day after day除用作状语外,还可用作主语、宾语等。
every day, daily
We do not have lessons every day.
We do not have lessons daily.
Has the date for the meeting fixed?
The first day of a week is Sunday.
What day is it today?
What is the date today?
day, festival, holiday, leave, vacation
August and September are the months of the year during which most English people take their holidays.
We celebrate National Day every year.
Christmas is one of the festivals of the Christian church.
The soldiers will go home on leave once every two years.
Three vacations occur in the course of the year, viz, two weeks at Christmas, ten days at Easter and the usual two months in summer.

One day morning,I ran into her on my way to school.
正 One morning,I ran into her on my way to school.

point作为名词使用时,通常用短语“point of view”来表达一个“观点”或者“意见”;
当表达“这是...的观点”时,通常用“from...point of view”,例如from my point of view...(我的观点是...);
point在美式英语中也用作“钢笔尖”或者“学分”,相当于英式英语中的“nib”与“credit”;
They pointed us out the building. They pointed the building out to us.
in point意思是“切题的,恰当的”; in point of意思是“就… 方面”; make a point of sth 意思是“特别重视某一事项”; not to put too fine a point on it意思是“不客气地说,直截了当地说”。
at the point of, in point of, on the point of
1.at the point of和on the point of的意思都是“将近…

I'm glad you've come.I was on the point of telephoning you, but you've saved me the trouble now.
2.in point of意思是“关于”“就… 例如:
