Questions?
Use a BRIDGE/BOOST if you’re worried about your home WiFi performance or you want to wirelessly connect PLAYBAR to SUB and rear speakers.
Connecting any Sonos player to your router with an Ethernet cable automatically creates a dedicated Sonos wireless network.
Any player (PLAY:1, PLAY:3, PLAY:5, PLAYBAR, CONNECT, CONNECT:AMP) or a BRIDGE or a BOOST can make this hard-wired connection. A dedicated Sonos network is ideal when your WiFi isn’t reliable in your home.&
HOME THEATER
It is also required to wirelessly connect PLAYBAR to SUB and rear speakers. Sonos requires a dedicated Sonos network to add SUB or rear speaker to PLAYBAR. If your PLAYBAR (or other Sonos speaker) is near your home internet router, you can connect it directly to your router with an ethernet cable. If you want to place your PLAYBAR or speaker in a different room, you’ll need to connect a BRIDGE or BOOST or another Sonos speaker to your router to expand your home theater.&
The PLAY:1, PLAY:3 AND PLAY:5 can easily be setup as a stereo pair, using the controller app.
A single PLAY:5 will play sound in stereo - it has left and right speaker drivers built in. However, if you are looking for better stereo separation, you can use two PLAY:5's in a stereo pair. This simple software toggle turns one speaker into a dedicated left and the other into a dedicated right.&
A single PLAY:3 will play sound in stereo - it has left and right speaker drivers built in. However, if you are looking for better stereo separation, you can use two PLAY:3's in a stereo pair. This simple software toggle turns one speaker into a dedicated left and the other into a dedicated right.&
You can use two PLAY:1's in a stereo pair. This simple software toggle turns one speaker into a dedicated left and the other into a dedicated right.&
No, but they're all light and portable. As long as there's an outlet, you've got Sonos.
The speaker units that we sell, the PLAY:1, PLAY:3 and PLAY:5, are not weather-rated. They can certainly be moved outside, but they are not designed to live outside unless they are in a covered space.&
CONNECT:AMP
If you are looking for a permanent outdoor zone of music, you can use our CONNECT:AMP unit with traditional weather-rated speakers.&
Already have a Stereo? Use the CONNECT. Just have speakers? The CONNECT:AMP is all you need.
The CONNECT is designed specifically to integrate with an external amplifier/receiver, and bring Sonos functionality to a third party system. &
CONNECT:AMP
If you have existing wired speakers that are not currently driven by amplifier, you can use a CONNECT:AMP to bring Sonos functionality to your speakers. &
Stream from your iTunes, Internet radio, and subscription services.
Computer or NAS
Sonos can access any music files that are stored on a computer or network-attached-storage (NAS) drive. If you have a music library managed through iTunes, WinAmp, Windows Media Player, Rhapsody or Music Match, Sonos can import your existing playlists. We support nearly every format, including: MP3, iTunes Plus, WMA, AAC (MPEG4), AAC+, Ogg Vorbis, Audible (format 4), Apple Lossless, Flac (lossless) music files, as well as uncompressed WAV and AIFF files.&
Internet Radio
Sonos Radio powered by TuneIn presents an aggregated collection of the world’s radio stations. Over 50,000 channels from every corner of the earth. Plus live and on-demand radio shows from around the world - all streaming direct to Sonos players throughout your house for free.
Not good enough? You can also manually add any Internet Radio station streaming MP3, AAC or WMA.&
The PLAY:5, CONNECT, and CONNECT:AMP each have an analog line input. Anytime you have an external source, such as a TV or CD player, connected to one unit in our system, that external source can be played throughout the entire system. Specifically, it shows up as an option under the line-in category of the music menu, and can be selected for playback in any room with a Sonos player.&
Subscription Services
Sonos works seamlessly with AUPEO!, Deezer, iHeartRadio, JUKE, Last.fm, MOG, Pandora(R), Rdio(R), Rhapsody(R), SiriusXM(TM) Internet Radio, Slacker(R) Radio, Songl, Spotify(R), Stitcher SmartRadio(TM), TuneIn, Wolfgang’s Vault(R), WiMP, and downloads from any service offering DRM-free tracks. (Service availability varies by region.)&
The CONNECT:AMP is designed for a single pair of speakers
CONNECT:AMP
The Connect: Amp is designed for a single pair of speakers- it is a stereo amplifier, right and left channel.
However, if your speakers are rated at 8 ohms, you can wire up to 2 pairs, or 4 speakers, to one Connect: Amp- you just won’t have independent control between those two pairs of speakers, in terms of volume and music selection.&
Already have a stereo? Use the CONNECT. Just speakers? The CONNECT:AMP is all you need.
The CONNECT is an un-amplified unit designed to run into an existing amplifier or receiver as a music source. You simply run an audio cable from an output on the CONNECT into an input on your existing equipment. The CONNECT has both digital and analog outputs, as well as a line-level input.&
CONNECT:AMP
The CONNECT:AMP has a built-in amplifier, and drives passive speakers directly via speaker wire. The amplifier inside of the CONNECT:AMP is a 110 watt stereo amplifier which puts out 55 watts per channel. The CONNECT:AMP is designed to power a single pair of speakers, but it can power a maximum of two pairs so long as the speakers are rated at 8 ohms.&
All of our speakers sou which speaker is best for your particular room depends on your desired room experience.
Choosing a speaker
For many, the PLAY:1 will provide an incredible music experience with deep bass and plenty of power. Consider upgrading to a PLAY:3 or PLAY:5, or to a stereo pair of speakers, if you:
Want deeper bass
Want more power
How much power is enough for you is based on many factors. How loud do you like to listen?
Will you be listening in front of the speaker, or do you want to fill the room with music?
If so, how big is your room?
How high is your ceiling?
How open is your space?
The louder you listen, or the bigger the space you want to fill, the more likely you will want a speaker with more power.
Have the space to set-up two Players in stereo pair mode
Feel free to call us to discuss your particular needs … or stop by a store and listen for yourself.&
While both options deliver an incredible music experience, each has its unique benefits.
The differences
Choose PLAY:5 for maximum power and the deepest bass.
Choose a stereo pair of PLAY:1s to create a wider sound stage, allowing every vocal and instrument to be heard more discretely.&
While all of our speakers provide crystal clear HiFi sound at any volume, each offers progressively deeper bass and more power.
The differences
For many, the PLAY:1 will provide an incredible music experience with deep bass and plenty of power. The PLAY:3 and PLAY:5 each deliver progressively deeper and more powerful sound, as well as left and right channel separation from a single player. (Note: The PLAY:3 delivers left and right separation only in horizontal orientation.)&

This is what worked for me - Thanks So Much!!!
Thank you, this did it for mine!
Okay...so both of our laptops will connect, but dispays no website.
Desktop works fine.
Connections on laptops is excellent.
Many things can cause this problem, such as cordless phones being near the router, the router being too close to the desktop computer, other networks interfering (like in an apartment building), and having to reset the network adaptor.
We've been
to constantly having to reset our network adaptors.
That seems to not be working quite as well as it did.
If you unplug the router, wait about a minute, plug it back in, let it boot up, reconnect to the network from the laptop, this usually works.
It's a big pain in the ass, but it seems to work.
Good luck!

Hello Mandy
Your problem is the results of restrictions which were set by the person responsible for the server to which you connect while in the dormitory.
I would ask that person, otherwise there is nothing we can do.
5 DAYS WORKING ON THIS, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE (AT LEAST FOR THE LAST 5 DAYS) THIS APPEARS TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM!!

WINDOWS XP
I have also been bothered by this problem....
I tried scanning my computer with Nod32 and the problem was solved by deleting 2viruses....
After a day the Problem has come back and so I tried scanning my computer again...
has been detected...
I also tried using the link from &Md Vasiullah&.... But still nothing has solved...
And so before i slept that night I think of some steps I am going to do tomorrow...
Then I remember using the &SYSTEM RESTORE&....
(I usually create a system restore point in case of problem like this one..)
Luckily, I am now able to surf the internet without this problem....
(This may look like an advertisement but this is just my style of making a paragraph.... I assure you that this will surely solved your problem.... But take note that you must choose a restore point at a time that your computer don't have problem like this)
(There is also no worries because &System Restore& is reversible)
&&&Going To System Restore(for those who don't know)
2. all programs
3. accessories
4. system tools
5. system restore
System Restore provides notes, sentences, choices, and facts that is easy to understand...
I had this same problem.
Could not connect to the internet.
Using another computer I went to -shtml
as recommended in the thread.
I downloaded the file to a USB drive and then ran it on the problem PC.
Everything works smartly now.
Good advice.

folks, I tried everything of your suggestions, nothing helped, I was about to format windows, but then I deinstalled and reinstalled the driver of my network connection and... suddenly... a miracle... I was online!
Uglybastard-
Thank you so much worked like a champ!!!!!!!!
This worked for me on the user that is not getting the internet connection
Control Panel & Internet Options & Click Connections Tab On Top & LAN Settings Near The Bottom & Unclick all of the boxes and then click OK.
Try the connection again, if it does not work then click each box one by one and go back until you get it to work.
Hope this helps :)
Thanks Joese!! Not until I tried your last suggestions did my IE actually re-connect to the internet. Thanks again!

I had the same problem. I uninstalled the Zonealarm firewall and installed the latest version - the computer was able to go online. Something in Zonealarm changed and was not allowing the internet traffic.
If you have another firewall, try reinstalling it and post here so that others can benefit from it.
Winsock Fix worked a treat.
1. Reset network connections on IPOD
2. Re-connect to WI-FI (Enter Password if prompted)
3. Disconnect then reconnect wireless router.
4. Once WI-FI is re- try connecting to WEB page again.
Worked for me.
I downloaded and tried winfix as instructed but still acnnot access the internet.I think i was
affected by a visrus.I used Norton and malbytesware to remove it.My pc is now fine but the problem is i cannot connect to the internet. When i open the
area and go to view , i see nothing.I have reinstalled the networkadapter drivers over and over to no avail.Any help, please.
I was having the same problem on hp laptop i notice it had an old antivirus program norton 2006 on it i deleted it from control panel and bingo i was online think it was a problem defitnatley with norton that it was shutting down my firewall because it was out of date but was still there occuping room where another antivirus needs to be thats up to date worked for me hope this helps some1.

Hello Breal,
Thank you for your feedback.
From experience, I have noticed that Norton has a habit to leave dong all over the system.
I suggest that you look into your registry, there is probably some Symantec smelling residues in it.
Had the same problem and just run the winsock fix and hey presto! internet back. Million thanks
I had same problem so i deleted old norton antivirus that was expired from 2006 delete it from control panel and it worked.
thank you so much for this piece of advice.
and i tried forcing ip and dns in tcp/ip properties and disabled firewall in windows and kaspersky antivirus and also checked the lan cable and as i was facing the problem only in my desktop and not in my laptop , i thought i had virus in my pc and i searched the net for answers and in this site i found the solution and after enabling automatically detect setting in
lan settings of the internet explorer, my net is wrking fine and thanks a lot to this website and also to the one who posted
