Let's review the story first.
Marvo's magic tricks were amazing and astounding.
How did he do that?
In the last magic trick, he asked Biff to the stage.
In the stage, Biff can not find the key.
Then, the key showed up from the top hat.
It's amazing!
The show was over.
But why wasn't the magic key taking them home?
Something wrong with the key.
Oh no!
Marvo swapped the keys when Biff was on stage!
Could the children find the magic key and come back home？
What will happen next.

"We can't go home without the magic key," said Chip unhappily.
"Don't worry," said Biff. "We're going to find Marvo and get our key back. Come on!"
Chip 不高兴的说：如果没有钥匙，我们就不能回家了。
Biff 说：不要担心，我们要去找 Marvo，去要回我们的钥匙。快来吧！
They found Marvo the Magnificent sitting in a little dressing room behind the stage.
"You tricked us," said Biff crossly. "Now we want out key back."
他们找到了伟大的 Marvo，他正坐在舞台后面的小更衣室里。
Biff 生气的说：你欺骗了我们，现在，我们想要回钥匙。

Marvo did not give them the key.
"The world's only magic key should be mine," he said.
"I am the greatest magician in the world, after all.
It says so on my poster!"
Marvo 不给他们钥匙。

Wilf could feel the pack of cards in his pocket.
"What if I can fool you with a magic trick?" he said. "Then will you give us the key?"

fool 做名词的时候，是 “傻瓜” 的意思，
这里做动词的话，是 “愚弄，欺骗” 的意思。
magic trick 魔术，不是魔法哦，通常来说，魔法是不存在的，而魔术是真有的。

Marvo just smiled.
"If you can fool me of course I will give you the key.
But you won't be able to fool me. I am Marvo the Magnificent!"
Wilf took the cards out of his pocket.
Marvo 只是笑了笑。
如果你们可以骗到我，当然，我会把钥匙还给你们。
但是你们骗不到我的。我是伟大的 Marvo！
Wilf 拿出口袋里的牌。
"Pick a card," he told Marvo.
With a confident grin, Marvo pulled one card from the pack.
"Is your card the eight of clubs?" Wilf asked him.
他对 Marvo 说：选一张卡。
Marvo 自信咧嘴一笑，从那堆牌里抽出了一张牌。
Wilf 问他：你的牌是草花8吗？

一堆牌，一打牌 a pack of cards
挑选 pick，pick a card
抽出、取出呢？是 pull，pull one card，抽出一张牌
这些词语我们在玩扑克牌的时候可以用到。
扑克牌 poker
讲到扑克牌，娜塔莉就再多扩展一下，
给大家讲讲扑克牌的事情吧
你知道吗？扑克牌里有 J Q K，
他们分别是代表什么吗？
他们分别代表：Jack 骑士 Queen 皇后 以及 King 皇帝
也许这个很多人都知道，
那你知道，黑桃 K 红桃 K 草花 K 方块 K，分别代表哪4个皇帝呢？
然后 Q 是哪4位皇后，J 是哪4位骑士？
好啦，不卖关子了，比较公认的说法是这样的。
1、黑桃K是公元前10世纪以色列的国王所罗门的父亲大卫。
2、方块K是古罗马恺撒大帝。
3、梅花K是马其顿国王亚历山大。
4、红桃K则是建立查理曼帝国的查尔斯一世国王。
1、黑桃Q：女神帕拉斯·雅典娜，四张皇后牌中唯一一位手持武器的王后。
2、红心Q：友第德，《圣经》中《友第德记/犹滴传》中的主要人物。
3、梅花Q：阿金尼，（英文）Argine，由女王Regina一词移位而成。
4、方块Q：拉结或阿涅丝·索蕾。根据《圣经·创世纪》的记载，是雅各（犹太人的祖先）第二位和最宠爱的妻子。
1、黑桃J：奥吉尔，中世纪英雄史诗《罗兰之歌》中查里曼大帝的十二位帕拉丁之一。
2、红心J：拉海尔，1390～1443，英法百年战争中的法国指挥官，是查尔斯七世的侍从。
3、梅花J：兰斯洛特；亚瑟王圆桌武士中的第一勇士。
4、方块J：说法不一。有的说是赫克托尔，普里阿摩斯的儿子。又说是查尔斯一世的侍从罗兰。
好了，了解一下就可以啦，我们还是回到绘本吧，
翻到第28页。
"Of course it is!" said Marvo. "But that trick didn't fool me.
Every card in that pack is the same. Let me see!"
Marvo plucked the pack of cards from Wilf's hands.
Marvo 说：当然是它咯！但是你们骗不到我。
那副牌里的每张卡都是一样的，让我看！
Marvo 从 Wilf 的手中抽走了那副牌。
pluck 是 “抽走，拔掉” 这样的意思
The magician turned the cards over.
魔术师翻开牌。
Then he gasped in surprise.
All of the cards were different.
然后大吃一惊。
所有的牌都是不一样的。
"But how?" he asked.
Wilf did not know either.
He was just as surprise.
他问：但是怎样做到的？
Wilf 也不知道。
他同样的感到惊讶。

"Now where's our key?" asked Biff.
Before Marvo could answer, the key started glowing inside the top hat.
Biff grabbed it.
"Goodbye, Marvo the not so Magnificent!" she said.
Biff 问：现在我们的钥匙在哪里？
在 Marvo 回答之前，钥匙开始在那顶帽子里发光了。
Biff 抓住了它。
她说：再见，Marvo 没有那么伟大。
At home Wilf said, "I see what happened.
I must have picked up your cards instead of my trick pack."
回到家里，Wilf 说：我明白发生什么了。
我一定是拿走了你的牌，而不是我那副魔术牌。
"So how did you guess Marvo's card correctly?" asked Chip.
Chip 问：那你是怎么猜到 Marvo 的牌呢？
这也是我想问的，猜中那张牌，那是该有多幸运啊！

"Maybe I was just really lucky," said Wilf.
"Or maybe the key helped you," suggested Biff.
Wilf looked at the key.
"Wow," he said. "Now that's magic!"

Wilf 看着钥匙。
他说：哇哦！现在那是魔法！

"Let's play cards," said Chip.
Wilf wanted to show his friends a new magic trick instead.
He took a pack of cards from his pocket.
"Pick a card," he said to Biff.
Chip 说：让我们来玩牌吧。
Wilf 想要向他的朋友们展示他的新魔法。
他从口袋里拿出一叠卡片。
他对 Biff 说：挑一张牌。
"Don't show me your card," said Wilf.
He closed his eyes and put his fingers on his forehead.
"Is your card the eight of clubs?" he asked.

"It is!" said Biff. "Wow!"
Wilf showed them the other cards.
"It's a special pack from my new magic set," he said.

他说：这是我的新魔法套装里的特别的牌。
所有的卡片，都是一样的。
"That's a great trick, Wilf." said Chip.
At that moment the magic key began to glow.
Chip 说：Wilf，那是很棒的魔术。

"I wonder where the magic is going to take us now." said Biff.
"I don't know," said Wilf. "But I'm going to take my trick cards!"
Biff 说：我在想，魔法要把我们带到哪里去呢？
Wilf 说：我不知道，但是我要去拿我的魔术牌。
The magic took them to the entrance of a fancy old theatre.
"Why has the magic key brought us here?" asked Chip.
Biff pointed to a poster on the wall.
魔法把他们带到了一个漂亮的老剧院的入口。
Chip 问：为什么魔法钥匙把我们带到这里？
Biff 指着墙上的海报。
The poster was for 'Marvo the Magnificent'.
"It says that he is the greatest magician in the whole wide world!" said Wilf.
"I wish we could see him!"
海报上的是魔法师 Marvo。
Wilf 说：上面说，他是世界上最伟大的魔术师。
我希望他能见我们。
"You can see him." said a tall man behind the children.
"Marvo the Magnificent's show is starting in a few moments."
He pointed towards a door into the theatre.
孩子后面出现了一个高大的男人，他说：你们可以见到他。
魔术师 Marvo 的表演一会儿就要开始了。
他指着剧院的那扇门。
"We haven't got tickets." said Biff.
The tall man smiled and clicked his fingers.
Suddenly there were three tickets in his hands. "For you." he said.
"Wow!" said Wilf. "Thanks!"
Biff 说：我们没有买票。
那个高个子男人笑了笑，打了个响指。
突然，他的手上出现了3张票，他说：给你们。
Wilf 说：哇哦！谢谢！
There were lots of people in the theatre,
but the children found three empty seats near the stage.
As soon as they sat down, the lights went dim.
剧院里有很多的人。
但是孩子们看到舞台的附近有3个空座位。
他们一坐下来，灯光暗了下来。
"Ladies and gentlemen," said a voice in the dark.
"Put your hands together for the incredible ... the amazing ... Marvo the Magnificent!"
The audience all began to clap.
黑暗中传来了声音：女士们，先生们。
把你们的掌声给不可思议的，神奇的魔术师 Marvo！
观众们开始鼓掌了。
"It's the man we saw before!" said Wilf.
"He's Marvo the Magificent!"
Marvo lifted his top hat and gave a bow to the audience.
Wiff 说：这个人是我们之前看到的那个。
他就是伟大的 Marvo！
Marvo 举起帽子，向观众鞠躬致意。
"Prepare to be amazed and astounded." Marvo said with a smile.
There was a flash of light and a bird flew out of his top hat.
"Wow!" said Wilf.

一道闪光，一只鸟从他的帽子了飞了出来。
Wilf 说：哇哦！
Marvo had been right.
His magic tricks were amazing and astounding.
After every trick, the children asked each other, "How did he do that?"
Marvo 是对的。

在每个魔术之后，孩子们都会互相问：他是怎样做到的？
"For my next trick," said Marvo, "I need a volunteer from the audience."
Lots of people in the crowd put up their hands, but Marvo pointed right at Biff.

人群中有许多人举起了手，但是 Marvo 正指向了 Biff。
When Biff came on stage, Marvo said, "Please tell us what is in your pocket."
"A key." said Biff.
She put one hand into her pocket, but there was no key.

Biff 说：一把钥匙。
她把一只手放进口袋，但是钥匙不在了。
"Are you looking for this?" asked Marvo with a smile.
There was a puff of smoke as Marvo pulled something from the top hat.
"The key!" said Biff in surprise.

当 Marvo 从帽子里拉出什么东西的时候，一股烟冒了出来。
Biff 惊讶的说：是钥匙！
The audience clapped and cheered.
Marvo gave anoter bow and said,
"Thank you. ladies and gentlemen, and goodnight."
Then he walked quickly off the stage.
观众们鼓掌欢呼。
Marvo 向大家鞠躬，说：
谢谢，女士们、先生们，晚安。
然后他快速的离开了舞台。
"That was fantastic!" said Wilf. "I wish I could do magic tricks like that!"
"It was good." agreed Chip. "But why isn't the magic key taking us home now?"
Wilf 说：太神奇了。我希望我可以像那样变魔术。
Chip 也很赞成：太好了。但是为什么魔法钥匙现在没有带我们回家呢？
Biff pulled out the key from her pocket and stared at it.
"Wait a minute," she said. "There's something different about this key.
It isn't the magic key!"
Biff 从口袋里拿出钥匙，盯着它看。
她说：等等，这把钥匙好像不一样。
这不是我们的魔法钥匙。
"Marvo must have heard us talking about the magic key," said Chip.
"He gave us the tickets because he was planning to get it.
He swapped the keys when you were on stage!"
