一、A 500μm of large diamond crystal with a smooth (100) facet at its top has been synthesized on Mo substrate through microwave plasma chemical vapour deposition (MPCVD). We studied the morphology and quality of the large diamond crystal by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). In addition, we mainly elaborated the growth mechanism of the large diamond crystal by employing two models(simulations) and briefly discussed the emergence of the (100) facet at the top of the large diamnd crystal from several different aspects, finding that high microwave power density(MPD), high CH4 concentrations, high pressure, high substrate surface temperature and the addition of small amount of O2 were necessary for the synthesis of the large diamond crystal with a smooth (100) facet at its top.
