How is the movie compared with the book on which it is based? Like the movie, the book can have a
of settings. It can also contain a lot of details. However, what we see in a second often takes
to read. The reader would soon grow
with all the descriptions necessary for many changes in place. He
be confused by too many characters. He would have to slow down his reading speed, and that would make things even
for the author's words might sometimes “get in the way”. Most readers know
it means to have the words “disappear”
the reading of a well-written story. If a book
to include all the details of a movie, this would hardly be
. But the book does have at least one advantage
the movie,
. The author can simply
his readers what he want them to know. For instance, an author writes, “Henry had been a sad boy since his father died in a train accident three years ago. ” A movie writer can not tell this to the
directly. He would have to
one of his characters say it, or show the accident in a flash back and then show
Henry was still sad.

In recent years many countries of the world have been faced with the problem of how to make their workers more productive. Some experts say the 1 is to make jobs more varied(多样的).But do more varied jobs 2 greater productivity? There is evidence to suggest that 3 variety certainly makes the worker's life more enjoyable, it doesn't 4 make him work harder. As far as increasing productivity is concerned, then, 5 is not an important factor.
Other experts feel that giving the worker 6 to do his job in his own way is important, and there is no doubt that this is true. The 7 is that this kind of freedom can't easily be given in the modern factory with its complicated(复杂的)machinery which must be used in a 8 way. Thus while freedom of choice may be important, there is usually very little that can be done to 9 it.
Another important 10 is how much each worker 11 to the product he is making. In most factories the worker 12 only one small part of the product. Some car factories are now 13 with having many small production lines rather than one large one, so that each worker contributes more to the production of the cars on his 14 .It would seem that not only is degree of worker contribution an important factor 15 it is one we can do something about.
To what 16 does more money lead to greater productivity? The workers themselves certainly think this is 17 .But perhaps they want more money only because the work they do is so boring. 18 just lets them enjoy their spare time more.A 19 argument may explain demands for shorter working hours.Perhaps if we 20 making their jobs more interesting, they will neither want more money, nor will shorter working hours be so important to them.

measure of a man's real character is what he would do if he knew he would never

Some thirty years ago, I was studying in a public school in
New York. One day, Mrs Nanette O'Neill gave an arithmetic 26 to our
class. When the papers were 27 she discovered that twelve boys had made
exactly the 28 mistakes throughout the test.
There is nothing really new about 29 in exams. Perhaps that was why Mrs O'Neill 30 even say a word about it. She only asked the twelve boys to 31 after class. I was one of the twelve.

more peacefulWe all know who Benjamin Franklin was. He was a very famous American statesman. He was also the first man to discover electricity. Franklin liked to study and to learn about new things. One day he heard from a friend that something black in colour holds the heat better than something white in colour. Franklin wanted to find out if this was true or not.
There was snow on the ground at the time. So he put two large pieces of cloth over the snow. One piece of cloth was black in colour, the other piece was white. Then he waited until the sun began to shine. After several hours he looked under the pieces of cloth and saw that the snow under the black cloth melted much faster than the snow under the white cloth. This proved to him that the black cloth held the heat better than the white cloth.
Soon after this, people began to wear white hats and white clothes during the summer because they were cooler.

When mentioning the black people, most of us will come up with the idea of racial discrimination. As is known to us all, the black people had been treated as slaves on the American continent for centuries, until the North won the Civil War and President Lincoln announced that slavery was unconstitutional. Though the black people got the same rights as the white in law since then, they were still suffering from severe racial discrimination. However, they were brave, and never stopped fighting for equality. Nowadays, the black people are almost treated equally and accepted by the society, which is proved by President Obama, and racial discrimination is much weakened, but still exists. Looking into the future, the black people need to concentrate more on protecting their culture, if they want to be more independent and proud of being black.
