【記者郭偉如高雄報導】新媒體時代正興，為運用社群媒體與全世界緊密連結，高雄市政府昨（18）日召開記者會正式公布甫獲Twitter官方認證的@kaohsiungcity帳號。高雄市長陳菊邀大家一起將高雄推向國際，讓在地特色觸及更多國際人士。
高雄市長陳菊說，高雄Twitter內容規劃了特色產業、人文歷史、觀光食宿、節慶活動等許多值得向國際推廣的素材。另外，高雄近年積極以卓越建設與全球接軌，如亞洲新灣區、環狀輕軌、國際宜居城市獎等等，希望透過社群媒體，強化高雄國際知名度與城市形象，盼 Twitter上的朋友們一起關注高雄，將高雄推向國際！
新聞局局長丁允恭表示，一直以來國內公部門經營社群網站多以境內國人為對象，比較少鎖定國際人士，但外國旅客對台灣境內資訊需求其實很高；同時，社群網站作為國際行銷載體，可以直接觸及國際人士，卻又較其他跨國通路來得成本低廉，且可持續經營。因此，新聞局決定採用社群網站經營的方式，來進行國際城市行銷。
而國際行銷必須考量正確的載體與內容，才能有行銷加乘效果。在歐美、日本等地，較臉書更早蔚為風行的Twitter，有許多具有輿論影響力的死忠使用者，也是其主流的訊息管道。
因而新聞局創立Twitter「＠Kaohsiungcity」帳號，提供以英文為主的城市訊息，供國際人士瀏覽。這個帳號，也是全台灣第一個由Twitter官方認證的公部門機關帳號，以及城市代表帳號。
丁允恭進一步指出，市府為取得Twitter官方認證的藍勾，必須向Twitter提出市府證明，並經審核推文內容充實度、跟隨者數等等符合一定程度之水準才能取得。藉由Twitter官方認證，可強化「＠Kaohsiungcity」帳號的辨識性，讓國際網路使用者一眼就可確認這是代表高雄市的正式訊息管道，可為用戶傳達最正確的高雄資訊。帳號開通試推2週後，還未正式對外發布推播，就已迅速累積了3,800多位跟隨者。
Twitter大中華區商務總監Alan Lan首先轉述Twitter亞太及拉丁美洲總經理Aliza Kno說：「高雄是南台灣最具代表性的國際化城市，同時又保有豐富的在地人文風光，是一個不容世界錯過的精彩寶地。透過@KaohsiungCity的啟用，我們很榮幸地將高雄推送到全世界3.2億名Twitter用戶眼前。從這一刻起，借助Twitter無遠弗屆的Power of Now，讓世界看見最美的海洋高雄。」，並同時表示本次是Twitter第一次派出代表出國參與政府部門帳號發表記者會活動，他非常歡迎高雄市政府加入Twitter行列，Twitter非常重視與臺灣公部門的合作，且臺灣臨近日韓，而Twitter在日本擁有2千多萬用戶，今後會特別利用日本Twitter帳戶將@KaohsiungCity的推文轉推出去，讓更多日韓旅客認識高雄。
