JAY Worldwide, a Momentum-aligned agency within McCann
Worldgroup, was First Niagara Financial Group’s creative and media agency of
record from
before parting ways.&
Of course, strong bonds throughout the client/agency relationship were
forged during those five years and JAY’s management, led by brothers and
founders Ferdinand Jay and Gregory Smith,&
continued to communicate, support and provide counsel whenever asked.& In late 2012, following a significant
acquisition of 200 HSBC branches resulting in doubling their branch network in
New York and further marketing leadership changes, First Niagara asked JAY for
strategic and creative thinking around the relaunch of its brand.& To add additional challenges, First Niagara
wanted the launch in under a month’s time.&
The result for First Niagara is a successful multimedia launch of Do
Great Things (watch the first TVC ).&
The result for JAY is a renewed AOR relationship in 2013 with expanded
responsibilities including creative, media, digital, direct mail and overall
corporate strategy.
Working alongside executives throughout First Niagara,
JAY has threaded Do Great Things through all facets of First Niagara’s
business, highlighting partnerships the bank has with customers and community groups
throughout its footprint in Upstate New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut,
Massachusetts, and parts of NY’s Hudson Valley.&
The campaign also includes sponsorship activation (including at The
First Niagara Center in Buffalo, home of the Buffalo Sabres NHL franchise),
grass roots marketing and employee communications with JAY leading integrated
agency teams on each.& Reaching into its
parent network, JAY is also performing consumer segmentation research, and
quarterly brand awareness surveys powered by Momentum’s Research and Analytics
team and has introduced ChaseDesign as First Niagara looks at a potential
evolution of its physical retail environments.

in NYC, Chicago and Los Angeles with field offices in Detroit, Phoenix and
