apply后面是宾语从句
and 后面是assist的另外一个宾语
与the students并列。。task及前面的是主语，is谓语
to 及后面的可以相当于表语。因为is和assist都是动词，所以用to隔开。然后是assist sb to do sth 。what引导一个句子做apply的宾语。
解答一：apply是动词，一般后面接的是名词但这里改为接句子，是名词状语从句。解答二：assist somebody in dong something 是固定搭配。to apply 与 in dong是并列的

第一个which 修饰的是 soul 吗 还是 Language.问题是：Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow，然后成长后流出，思想像血液一样进入语言（即灵魂）

便于理解可将从句改写为thoughts run into which and they grow out of which(定语从句中介词和关系代词搭配时，要将介词提前，即随着谈话思想被表达：思想随着血液奔跑；这里只有thoughts 是复数形式，they应该代之thoughts)
所以字面意思也就是说，并在血液之外成长（这句话里the blood 和 language在意思上是等价的很高兴为你解答，抛开修饰词，语言是血液！
两个which的先行词均为 the blood
