You're right...I was exaggerating for effect, so I will temper my comments and say that some rims look better than others on stock suspension (on the Speed3) which is why I have CX-7 rims on my car, and even with a drop some rims are just plain ugly or distracting from the styling theme of the car. However, all cars looks better dropped.
Only BMW squeezes their wheels in tight like that right out of the factory. Its not gonna look like that once its on the 2014 3.

My fenders are rolled and slightly pulled as well. will be going with a smaller tire when these go bad. Probly 215/40/ or 225/40 or 35

Hey is having a tire stretched across a rim like that have a downside? Can the bead get peeled off more easily and lose pressure? Is the ride much harsher from loss of height on the sidewall?
GrifNIt's not ideal. Let's put it that way. You are putting forces on the sidewall that they were not designed to withstand. You can also break the bead easier. And the ride will be a bit rougher because of the reduced sidewall height profile (think: less air to cushion impact). And finally, it does you no good as far as traction is concerned -- you only get as much traction as can be gained from tread touching the ground. Narrower tires means less tread touching, meaning less traction. Throw in more camber, and you're talking even less traction (less contact patch).
All that said, I've seen tires stretched more. Doesn't make it right, but it could be worse. Still, if you're going for a flush look, I'd get properly fitted tires and just adjust your offsets (with spacers or with the actual proper offset on the wheel). Roll fenders flat if you're looking for the flush, tucked-tire look.

And this is a photoshop I did for a local friend that'll be buying a 2014 3, he wants the 2013 Speed3 wheels, but I shopped a few stock wheels, and the RX8 R3 wheels look AWESOME, and that's at stock height. Would it look better lower? Absolutely, but I think they're quite fitting as is, and doesn't &need& to be lowered to look better.

I think that this would look amazing if those speed3 wheels could somehow be maybe one to three inches wider, maybe 19 or 20. I saw a 2014 at the dealer the other day and the wheel wells looked much bigger around than my 2007's

Also you can run wider tires. Stock speed3s run 225s, and I've seen people put on 235s no problem

And, it's a replica--sort of.
It is extended like the ms3 wing, but it doesn't have the middle piece.
I got it on amazon for $70; search &mazda 3 hatchback spoiler& and it's one of the first that will pop up.
The example picture they give is of a yellow hatch.

Yellow light was coming up fast and were still doing 80mph or 90mph. Had to slam the brakes to the point before ABS started to kick in.

bisdunno i dont have a boost guage im waiting for that plug in deal that displays it on the MDF unless i find a pod for the middle AC vent.
but if the DV was blown i would lose power which i have not yet and it launches sooooo much better now
